The American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event is Relay For Life. For over 35 years, communities across the world have come together to honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change. Every year, over 5000 Relay for Life events take place in over twenty countries, with almost 4 million people participating each year. This year, several events traditionally held in San Bernardino County are being combined into one event, Relay for Life of Route 66, which will take place at Cal State San Bernardino on August 26th, but the City of Chino will also be celebrating 20 Years of Hope and Partnership with the American Cancer Society on August 12th.
Janet Homonnay, Lead Volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Team Leader for the Cancer Crushers, discusses both of these events and how the American Cancer Society is supporting cancer patients.
