Support needed for fallen U.S. Marine Corps veteran as he returns home

A fallen hero is returning home, and his family is requesting a show of support from the Southern California community.

Ian Frank Tortorici, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, was serving in the Ukrainian International Legion, a group of foreign soldiers contracted members of the Ukrainian military, when on June 27th, 2023, he was struck by Russian missiles that also killed over a dozen civilians, including children.


A graduate of Laguna Hills High School, Tortorici left his job with U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement, to enlist in the Legion.

Tortorici will return home on Thursday, July 27th, and his family is asking that the route they will take from Ontario International Airport to Evans-Brown Mortuary in Menifee be lined with as many American flags as possible.

Estimated time of departure from Ontario International Airport is approximately 10:30am on Thursday, July 27th. The route they will take is as follows:

Moore Way to East Airport Drive
Right on East Airport Drive
Left on North Archibald
Right on the 10 East
Right on the 15 South
Left at fork to 60 East
Right to 215 South
Exit Ethanac
Left on Ethanac
Right on Encanto Drive

Evans-Brown Mortuary is located at 27010 Encanto Drive; planeside honors will remain private for the family.
