California has been experiencing dozens of large wildfires, including many right here across the Inland Empire, including the South Fire, Roadside Fire, Railroad Fire and Chaparral Fire, which have displaced many from their homes.

The Inland Empire is no stranger to wildfires and other emergencies. Local American Red Cross chapters respond to hundreds of disasters each year– including wildfires– making sure those affected have a safe place to stay, food to eat and tools to help them recover.

Right now, the Red Cross urges everyone to get ready for disasters by making preparedness a priority this September during National Preparedness Month. Yevette Baysinger, Executive Director of the Red Cross of San Bernardino County, discusses the need for volunteers and blood donations.
