Thomas Rhett is up for Male Vocalist of the Year at the CMA Awards this year, and even though it's a nod he's received before, it's never something he takes for granted.
"Yeah, it's crazy. Like, looking at that list of people in this category, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, I mean you're talking about people [who] I look up to on a daily basis," he gushes in a statement from his label. "You know, when their albums come out I'm listening to their record.
"I'm a proud friend," he continues. "I look at them and I go, wow, just the voices that these people have. And I do pinch myself in this position because I have been nominated with some of these guys in the past and have somehow won this award a time or two and I don't know how, to be honest with you.
"Every time the CMA's roll around, I'm like, we're not going to get nominated for anything. And then you see your name with a list of superstars, guys that I admire vocally, songwriter-wise, performer wise.
"So, it really is a trip every time I see my name in that category."
The CMA Awards take place this Wednesday, November 10th in Nashville and will be broadcast on ABC.
