While veterans unemployment rates are slightly lower than civilians, hundreds of thousands of vets face difficult times as we head into the holidays. According to the Military Times, nearly 600,000 veterans are looking for work – that's 7.5 percent of the veterans from the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; and 6.4 percent overall.
Alan Steinbrecher, a veteran and partner at Steinbrecher and Span, is also co-founder of The Veterans Legal Services Project, a group that has helped veterans by clearing impediments to finding employment and offering legal assistance in many areas.
