
The 2024 CMT Music Awards are upon us and this year’s event is sure to impress with a larger-than-life show at Austin, Texas’ Moody Center on Sunday, April 7 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS.

Sure to be a night full of great music, big stars, and major awards, here is everything you need to know heading into the big celebration.
The Basics
The 2024 CMT Music Awards will air live from Austin, Texas’ Moody Center on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS. It will also available to stream live and on-demand via Paramount+.
Host
Kelsea Ballerini will return as host for the 2024 CMT Music Awards. While it will be her fourth consecutive year hosting the awards, it will mark her first time as a solo host after tag teaming duties with Kane Brown in 2021 and 2023 and joining remotely in 2022.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be back for my 4th year with my CMT family to host this year’s CMT Music awards in Austin, TX,” Ballerini shared. “Hosting an awards show that celebrates the music that the fans love most has been an honor and I know this year will be another unforgettable night.”
Performers
Some of the biggest names in Country music are set to take the stage including Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, Bailey Zimmerman, Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt, Old Dominion, Parker McCollum, Brittney Spencer and Jordan Davis with NEEDTOBREATHE. Returning to the stage for the first time together since 2013 will be supergroup, Little Big Town, and former duo, Sugarland, who last shared the stage as a duo at the 2011 CMT Awards. The song all six of them plan to perform this Sunday remains under wraps for now.
Nominations
Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney all lead the nominations list with 3 apiece. Additionally, there are 14 first-time nominees including Chayce Beckham, Tyler Childers, Warren Zeiders, Zach Bryan and Tigirlily Gold as well as non-Country acts, Bret Michaels and Hozier. Handing out some of the night’s biggest awards will be music, television and entertainment stars including Jelly Roll, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, Melissa Etheridge, Parmalee, Mickey Guyton, Emily Osment (Young Sheldon), Emma Roberts, Gayle King (CBS Mornings), James Van Der Beek, Jane Seymour, Max Theriot (Fire Country), Minnie Driver, Montana Jordan (Young Sheldon), Billy Bob Thornton (Landman) and many more.
Other Awards
Trisha Yearwood is set to receive the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award during the ceremony alongside a performance. According to a press release from CMT, the award “recognizes an artist, duo/group or industry veteran who demonstrates an exceptional dedication to the community and their fellow artists as Cash did.”
