In an interview with RADIO.COM’s Codie Allen and Joshua James on 106.5 The Wolf in Kansas City, Kenny Chesney revealed that he was good friends with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. The unlikely friendship between the two goes back more than a decade and began when Reid was the head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I met Andy years ago when he was the head coach for the Eagles,” Chesney said. “My first couple years of playing the football stadium in Philadelphia, he would always meet me at their gym, at their complex over there cause I would go over on a Thursday and Friday and Saturday to work out and they were really gracious in letting me do that.”
“That’s how I met Andy Reid,” Chesney added. “He would always come over and say ‘Hey’ to me and Andy’s the absolute best.”
Even better, Chesney revealed that Reid would hit him up and tell him his favorite song whenever the Country star dropped a new record. While Reid was coaching the Eagles, Chesney said he would invite him to his concert and to hang out when he was in town.
“I’ve had him up on stage before,” Chesney said. “He just loves the experience and truly does love music.”
If there were ever a celebrity friendship we’d love to be a fly on the wall for, it’d be for Kenny Chesney and Andy Reid.
