One listen to Zach Top’s music and it’s clear he’s influenced by Country kings of the ‘80s and ‘90s including George Strait, Keith Whitley and Vince Gill. One conversation with him and fans will find he’s full of wit, dry humor, and sarcasm with a deep appreciation for comedy.

During a recent appearance for the Friday Night Takeover with Audacy’s Rob + Holly, Top shared one of his favorite comedians is Theo Von, well known for his podcast, This Past Weekend, which the Washington native praised for having a great balance of education and comedy.
“Theo Von is great, I listen to his podcast all the time — super funny!” Top said when asked “who or what” makes him laugh. “He’s super funny and goofy, and then also is kind of meaningful.”
He continued, “I love that one day you get a stand-up comedian on there and it’s goofy the whole time and I’m just cacklin’, then sometimes he tries to have serious conversations and try to be a positive force in the world.”
With Top’s career gaining traction and growing by the minute, there’s a good chance he could be asked on the show as a guest to which he shared he’s say yes, “100%.”
“100%, I love Theo,” Zach said when asked if he’d ever agree to be on the podcast. “I hope I get to meet him here before long because I’m a big fan.”
While Top waits for an invite, he has plenty to keep him busy as he’s already kicked off a busy year on the road. He’s currently in the midst of opening a handful of Spring shows on Alan Jackson’s 2025 Last Call: One More for the Road tour in addition to an opening slot with Dierks Bentley’s Broken Branches Tour as well as his very own headlining tour later this year.
