Miranda Lambert set to receive the 'Country Icon' award at the People’s Choice Country Awards

Miranda Lambert is officially being named a Country Icon.

The three-time GRAMMY-winner has been chosen to receive the Country Icon Award at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards in recognition of her “decades-long career, during which she’s built an authentic, female-forward brand of Country that has shaped the industry,” according to a press release.

Lambert will receive the award at next month’s People’s Choice Country Awards which will take place at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House on September 26 and be hosted by Shania Twain. Fans around the country can catch the fun via NBC and Peacock at at 8PM ET/PT.

“A tour de force in Country music for more than 20 years, Miranda Lambert’s groundbreaking albums continue to capture the hearts of fans around the world,” said NBCUniversal EVP of Live Events and Specials Entertainment’s Jen Neal. “We’re so excited to celebrate her career, fierce individualism and innovation in the industry with the Country Icon Award.”

Lambert’s Country Icon Award won’t be the only award given out that night and they are calling on fans to call the shots. Voting for all awards is currently open and runs through Friday, Aug. 23 at 11:59PM ET. Fans can vote online at votepcca.com.
