“There’s something about getting older that I think you turn into a legend status in a way.“ Thomas told Audacy’s Rob + Holly. “You kinda just can’t do any wrong when you get old, and I can’t wait to get there.”

Thomas seems well on his way to gray as he says four kids and a pandemic caused some gray hairs to appear, resulting in a peppered look in his dark brunette locks.

“I feel good about it,” he said with pride regarding his gray hairs and looking towards the future. “I kinda want all of my kids friends to be like, ‘Man, we should talk to Thomas Rhett about this.’ And I’ll just kind of sit there and I’ll listen and give the best one liner you’ve ever heard in your life… and then they live by it.”

Before celebrating old, wise man status, Thomas is ready to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary with his childhood sweetheart, Lauren Akins. While not until October, Rhett started exploring ideas surrounding the tradition of gifting tin or aluminum for a 10-year wedding anniversary.

“Maybe I need to learn how to build something,” he pondered. “What if you just took like a bunch of Coors Light cans and spelled out ‘I Love You,’ and put it on a wall. [Or] I could make a beer sculpture!”

We’re going to encourage Thomas to think about that one a little harder before the big day in October…
