The CMAs were more than just glitz and glam for Thomas Rhett, they were some quality time with mom!
Thomas brought his mom, Paige Lankford, along as his date for the night and wow! Did she look stunning or what?! Rhett, a Male Vocalist of the Year nominee took to social media to share a photo of he and his mom on the carpet writing “My beautiful date tonight! MOM!!”
The pair even did some pre-gaming before the show together which Thomas displayed on his Instagram story.
"Here at the CMAs tonight… like son like my mother,” Thomas laughed in the video which showed him with a bottle of whiskey and Lankford with a bottle of wine. “We're doing the wine and whiskey thing here. Mom you look pretty!"

While we were living for this mother-son moment, we do admit we missed seeing Rhett’s wife, Lauren, on the carpet this year. Her reasons for staying home are completely valid as she is readying to deliver the couple’s fourth child, a baby girl, any day now. We would have no desire to dress up and walk around in heels if we were 9 months pregnant either…
While Thomas Rhett didn’t end up taking home the prize for Male Vocalist of the Year (it went to Chris Stapleton) it was a great night for him and mom as they played dress-up and caught up with some of the biggest stars in the genre. Thomas even took the stage to perform “Country Again,” a performance we know wife, Lauren, and their daughters were watching while cuddled on the couch at home.
Now, it’s back to bottles and baby watch for the 31-year-old. We can’t wait to meet their new bundle of joy in the coming days!
