Ukrainian journalist Iuliia Mendel describes the current climate in Ukraine as being "literally invaded every moment and every day." She is originally from Kyiv, but was able to flee. She revealed that Russia was targeting "the military airport and TV stations" and as a result Ukrainians need to be "very precautious".

To accurately describe the situation and how things unfolded, Mendel described the invasion as, "someone comes to your house in a tank. Kills your relatives, your love ones, friends. Destroys your home." She says the crisis is "unbelievable" pleading that Ukraine is a "very peaceful country."

Mendel was also the press secretary to Ukrainian President Zelensky. He has been a shining example of leadership for Ukrainians. She said, "he's a very hardworking personality" that "always wants to be with his people."
