"'Killed the Man' is one of those that I didn't get to write. I wish I did, but when I heard it, obviously the story, once you hear it, is so unique," Lee tells Audacy. "There's a musical thing about it that really caught me too when it got to that chorus and it didn't do this big leap, it just kind of simmered down there. There was something about it that made me feel like this song overall was just extremely special and I just can't wait for everybody to hear it."
Brice is the first to admit that as a young man he was partying hard and "had a good time," but, "there's a different man here now, you know, and kids and a wife, and priorities in life and it really is a difference."
"This song really truly is a picture of my life and who I am now, or at least try to be most of the time," he reveals. "I hope that this song really does tell the truth, and people can hear truth coming from it and where I'm at in my life."
