ALGEBRA - "Pulse"
If you’re looking for no nonsense thrash full of heavy riffs and pit anthems, Algebra is coming straight outta Switzerland with a new serving of awesomeness to shove down your ear holes. These guys are no stranger to Metal Shop, as we jammed their past albums Polymorph and Feed The Ego pretty consistently. This first single is the title track from their new album Pulse? due out in September on Unspeakable Axe Records.
LOCISTELLAR - "Leading Era"
Locistellar is a killer brand-new band from Seattle that will be joining Metal Shop in studio this weekend. They blend old school melody with a powerful groove and elements of underground black metal. Honestly, there isn’t a fair way to really describe this band without just giving them a listen. "Leading Era" is the first song from their debut EP. If you dig what you hear on this song, make sure you check them out as they open for Ringworm and Goatwhore at the Crocodile on Tuesday August 20th.
GATECREEPER - "Boiled Over"
Arizona death metallers Gatecreeper have unleashed the first single from their new album Deserted that’s coming out October 4th on Relapse Records. This is pure unfiltered old school Swedish death metal worship. This is chunky and crushing, just like it should be.
MORTIFERUM - "Archaic Vision Of Despair"
Speaking of crushing, we’ve got another Northwest band to check out. This right here is some murky, raw and dirty death-doom from Olympia. Mortiferum have been grinding it out in the metal underground for a couple years now, and they’re getting ready to drop their debut full length Disgorged from Psychotic Depths on October 11th via Profound Lore Records. This is 100% NOT happy, sunny day, walk in the park type music.
EXHUMED - "Ravenous Cadavers"
And last but certainly not least we have Bay Area death grinders Exhumed with their newest single "Ravenous Cadavers". I love the old school horror-based visuals they brought to this simple promo video and the track is everything I love about Exhumed – fast, nasty and fun. Side note: if you ever have a chance to see Exhumed live TAKE IT – they are a complete blast in concert. “Ravenous Cadavers” is from the new album Horror out October 4th on Relapse Records.
