I always forget that terms like "exercising" or "working out" can carry a negative connotation for some. My bad. I'm a guy who loves those things. That's why I run around encouraging others to do more of them, including on this blog.
What I'm here to really encourage is just more movement (and sometimes healthier nutrition habits). Movement doesn't need to be structured with reps and sets, or involve any external equipment. I actually find a lot of joy in just using my body, the ground, and gravity, to play around.
Of course, doing this could be classified as exercising, or working out- I classify it as that, and so do my clients when they pay me to make them do this sort of stuff! It can help build strong, healthy muscles and joints (especially when done WITH CONTROL), and help you lose weight too (nutrition is way more important for that though). Both of these things are benefits of exercise/ working out, but maybe you'd prefer to think of it in terms of "moving", "playing around", or "exploring what the billions of cells known as your body are capable of as you play around with different movements and positions".
Okay, that last one's a mouthful. Just try this out and let me know how it goes!
That's what #FridayFlow is really all about. Feel free to hit up that hashtag for the archives and some ideas on a structured flow. This is a vague introduction to some new moves, not a set sequence.. It will plug nicely into a lot of the past sequences!
