Hola 12s,

Well, not the outing that we were hoping for this weekend. We suffered the first loss of the season and it wasn't exactly pretty. But I see a lot of hope in it yet. Let's break down the bad before the good this week, just to get it out of the way...

Bad

Injuries, weather conditions and all out team vibe were the biggest contributors to the loss this weekend in my opinion. Missing the likes of Ethan Pocic, Tedric Thompson, and Neiko Thorpe I think all had their factors in coming up short this week. Keep in mind we didn't lose by much, so that means that small factors are at fault here, which is why I'm also putting the weather in there. I know, I know, we in Seattle should know how to play in the rain, but the fact is, if you're not ready for it, it can be a bear, which is what Carson suffered through most of his plays. And finally, overall team vibes. I've said it in the past, the Hawks play to the team across the ball. I think the idea of Brees sitting down caused a little bit of a laid back mentality, which is what led to some of the rough plays that we saw out there. However, in true Seahawks fashion, they never fail to show up for their fans and they gave a half decent showing at times out there

Good

Believe it or not, I think there was a lot of good to see in this game. First off, I totally called it that they were going to utilize the run game and Will Dissly in this game. We don't have a good enough O-line to challenge the long ball often, so use what you got, and I think we saw that out there. Also! This game was one where Russell made a believer out of me again. I've talked a harsh game on the man, but he looked like an all-star out there and brought back the old memories of watching him do his magic act out there on the field. While this particular game was a setback, I saw the bare bones of a team that is warming up to be even bigger and better than what we've been seeing. They're tightening up, they're getting strategic, And they're getting more fun to watch when they're in control.

I know this one was hard to swallow gang, but that's because there's potential here. I truly do believe in this squad. They're a good mix of age, experience, and heart. I get a good feeling that a little more seasoning, and we'll see the steamroller of yore. Buck up 12s. We've got a season to play! We'll see you back here for the Arizona game! With that....Mike Hawk is OUT!
