"Laverne & Shirley" star Cindy Williams died last week after a brief illness. She was 75. She played Shirley Feeney.
Before she starred in Laverne & Shirley…she was Ron Howard's girlfriend in the 1973 movie "American Graffiti".
And because of her performance in that film…George Lucas wanded Cindy, Ron Howard, and Richard Dreyfuss to audition for another idea he had. A space movie, later to be called "Star Wars".
