Hola 12s!
We're less than 2 weeks out from the NFL Draft! But as a Seahawks fan, that currently means next to nothing. We've got 3 picks total in this year's draft, and they're far from early. BUT! What they've lost in picks of the new talent, they've made up for in offseason acquisitions!
First off, they're still making the proper moves on offense. We as fans have been screaming for years about upgrading the O-line. But when it comes to results, what are we really looking for? When that's taken into consideration, they're making proper moves. We picked up Gabe Jackson this year, on top of others that we've acquired in the past couple seasons, as well as the few others that have trickled in for meetings with the team in the last week or so. The O-line doesn't need much, just enough of a tweak to give Russell an extra second or two if possible, without breaking the bank, and from what we've seen, we may have that answer.
Secondly, out of nowhere the defense has seen some massive upgrades as well. Not only did they add a fine man at secondary, but we've made some huge signings on that line. The boys are pulling no punches this coming season. They're taking QBs out or their picking it in the air. If you look at what they're putting together, it's the new age LOB. Stars in all facets of the defense, I'm truly excited to see how they operate.
We've been shaking in our boots at what the rest of the NFC West has put together. Arizona and LA both look like they're taking their shot this season, and I wouldn't be surprised if they fold a lot harder than they think they can. Meanwhile, our front office is putting together a team that's going to stand the test of time. We've got some good football ahead of us 12s! Prepare yourselves. Draft day is next Thursday!
