So, my (much more organized and reputable) brother scheduled a family Zoom call yesterday. Extended family, so a few cousins and aunts and the like. It was good to see everyone. It really was. They fawn over the kids and the kids returned the adulation with incurable boredom. I get it, but they're so bad at just faking it. Used to be an art form for little kids.
I still do it now. Hell, I saw 'Hamilton' back in the day and as much as I didn't enjoy it... and did not enjoy it... I prevented myself from scowling.
It's not just 'Hamilton'. It's currently 'awards show season'... Academy, Grammy's just passed, Golden Globes a few weeks before that. I can handle a few minutes of each, but to sit through an entire awards show is mind- numbing. However, I've sat through several so far this year and my face never betrays how much I hate the experience.
That's all I'm asking from the kids. It really is an art.
