Metallica is raising mental health awareness like never before with the release of their brand new song, “Screaming Suicide.” The song is the second to be released from the group’s forthcoming album, 72 Seasons, and bluntly addresses the darkness mental health struggles can bring.

“’Screaming Suicide,’ addresses the taboo word of suicide,” said frontman, James Hetfield. "The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It's ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it's a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone."
“Screaming Suicide,” follows the November release of “Lux Æterna,” the lead single from the group’s forthcoming album, 72 Seasons, set to release April 14. The album, will feature 12 brand-new tracks and is Metallica’s first full-length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
In addition to the release day of “Screaming Suicide,” today also marks the first on-sale date of single day tickets to all shows on Metallica’s M72 world tour. Find tickets here.
