Music has the ability to transport us to a different world, float through fond memories, tell stories, shape our identities, and most importantly, positively impact our moods.
A major component of Audacy's I'm Listening campaign is being able to look at music as a tool that not only helps further the discussion around mental health but uses the medium as a mechanism that can quite literally shift the way we feel.
The trio behind Cheat Codes, KEVI, Trevor Dahl, and Matthew Russe, certainly subscribe to the idea that music plays a powerful role in perpetuating happiness. That's why the group has shared five of their favorite tracks to boost your mood.
Check out their choices above and listen below.
1."Dynamite" - Taio Cruz
This banger might be a decade old (wild, yes we feel old too now) but Taio Cruz will always have saying "a-yo" with a smile on our faces.
2."Yellow Submarine" - The Beatles
The Beatles classic could easily go down in happiness history. The song, which was released in 1966, has been spreading the word about being a happy little community for 55 years. John, Paul, Ringo, and George remind us that joy is better when it's shared.
3."Happy" - Pharrell Williams
Well, this is an obvious one. However, it's infections and can't stop anyone from dancing….or thinking about Minions???
4."Soul Meets Body" - Death Cab for Cutie
Ethereal and beautiful, this song evokes the euphoria that we feel when the sun is warming our skin, or when we squish sand between our toes. Either way, we just want to go "where the soul meets body."
5."Talkin' Bout a Revolution" - Tracy Champman
When "the tables are starting to turn" sometimes that leads to positive change, like the sun peeking out from the clouds. Chapman perfectly captures that feeling, both in the track's lyrics and upbeat acoustic guitar sound.
