Well, according to a survey from YouGov, some Americans believe the lion to be nothing more than just a large housecat that can easily be taken down.

The survey looked at the animals that Americans believe they could defeat in a fight, and while the majority of participants thought they could easily handle some smaller animals (rat – 72%, goose – 61%), some believe they could handle some of the big players in the animal kingdom.

6% of Americans feel they could defeat a bear, 8% feel they could take down a lion, and in the most surprising opinion of the survey, 8% could feel they could defeat an ELEPHANT!

As far as which animal would stand tall amongst a battle of them all, the participants believe the elephant would take the crown with a win rate of 74%, just a fraction ahead of the rhinoceros, in second place, also at 74%.
