On Monday night, the Monday Night Football game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers was interrupted by a fan who rushed the field. He was taken down by Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner.
Though same may say the fan brought that hit upon himself, that hasn’t stopped him from filing a lawsuit against Wagner over the incident.
According to ProFootballTalk, the fan rushed the field in order to raise awareness for a trial involving the alleged theft of pigs from a factory farm.
In a postgame press conference, Wagner explained his actions saying, “You just never know. You never know, like, people run on the field for no reason sometimes and again, I'm pretty sure it's gonna keep happening, but you never know what that person got in they pocket, in they hands, whatever.
“Kind of like what I said after the game so, you know, there's consequences for your actions."
Wagner has received the full support of Rams head coach Sean McVay, who told reporters, “We all know where Bobby's intentions were, and I support Bobby Wagner."
