The brothers behind the operation Brent and Juan Reaves recently made an appearance on Good Morning America where they competed one on one with another fantastic Dallas locale Pecan Lodge in a barbecue cookoff.

Pecan Lodge’s The Pitmaster sandwich made with brisket, pulled pork, sausage, coleslaw and jalapenos was pitted against Smokey John’s The Big John, a hickory smoked brisket, sausage and coleslaw topped with an onion ring…and they WON!

A panel of judges including WFAA’s Joe Trahan, current Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, former Cowboys quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, and his broadcast partner Joe Buck were blown away by the sandwich.

And now, the brothers are on their way to New York to compete for the chance to be crowned a true reigning barbecue champion.

Before heading for the Big Apple however, Brent and Juan called into Miles in the Morning to talk about the amazing journey they’ve had.
