On Sunday, A Beautiful Noise, a musical based on the life and career of Neil Diamond, made its debut on Broadway.
Diamond was in attendance, though fans were not prepared for the 81-year-old to grab the mic and lead the crowd, and cast, in a performance of his most famous tune.
Diamond stopped touring and retired in 2018 due to Parkinson's disease, but the man still knows how to bring an audience to their feet.
With his wife Katie McNeil, Diamond sang "Sweet Caroline," in an incredible performance made more special that it was a rare public appearance for the singer.
According to KCCI, A Beautiful Noise follows Diamond's life, and his path to becoming a successful solo artist after first writing songs for other performers.
