Food shortages seem to be the norm these days, but you never expect it to hit so close to home.
Starbucks customers are worried the chain is running out of a key ingredient in drinks every holiday season: peppermint.
Per Mashed, the chain confirmed to IdahoNews that "a small number of stores are experiencing a shortage of peppermint syrup," but want to reassure that the shortage is not nationwide and they're trying to rectify the problem.
However some Twitter users across the country have experienced peppermint shortages in Texas and Florida.

This isn't the first time Starbucks has faced a shortage of this kind, either.
Back in October, stores in the U.K. ran out of pumpkin spice syrup.
Starbucks employees online say that shortages are common nowadays, with stores often receiving less than what they've ordered, including peppermint mocha syrup.
A spokeswoman told The New York Times last year that shortages are often experienced in various locations and are temporary.
