Just because everything can be turned into a sport these days, we have now entered a time in history where professional pillow fighting exists.
Because why not?

This Saturday marks the first pay-per-view event for the Pillow Fight Championship (PFC), an organization started by Florida man Steve Williams. Williams told Reuters, "It's not something where you sit there and laugh and feathers are flying. It's serious. It's hardcore swinging with specialized pillows."
While most of PFC's fighters hail from the world of MMA or Boxing, Williams says there is a very big difference between those sports and his.
He says, "The only difference between our fights and MMA fights is that nobody gets hurt. The fighters don't like to get hurt, and there's a lot of people who don't want to see the blood. They want to see good competition, they just don't want to see the violence."
Williams hopes that because so many people grew up bashing their siblings, friends and parents with pillows, that will make the sport relatable, which he hopes will help tap into a new audience.
He says, "You can call it an alternative sport, but we think it's going to have mainstream appeal. Think about how they mixed country music with rap music and brought these diverse audiences together. That's what we're doing, and we hope it brings in a different kind of viewer."
