A recent study found that if you ever need to take pills, you should stick with water only!
The study, published by the Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal, found that taking pills with anything other than water, including coffee, juice, or soda, can actually affect how the medication breaks down in your stomach.
Drinks other than water can actually dissolve pills dissolve faster than they're supposed to, meaning your body doesn't have as much time to absorb them, and they might not work as well.
Now the study only focused on five over-the-counter medications used for pain, inflammation, and allergies, so researchers relent that some pills might not be affected by liquids other than water, but it's safe to say just use water anyway.
