KANSAS CITY – Kansas residents get to weigh in again on a new license plate design. This one for personalized plates.
Voting is open now. Kansas residents can choose their favorite among five different designs until 5PM on Friday, Aug. 9th. The winning design will be announced Monday, Aug. 12th.
The choice this time may not be as controversial as what occurred last year.
The KDOR says it incorporated feedback from last year’s voting to streamline the process and inform aspects of these designs, including a Kansas outline, wheat and sunflowers.
“We know how passionate Kansans are about license plates, and this initiative aims to give the public a direct say in selecting the next personalized plate design that will be featured on vehicles across the state for years to come,” KDOR Division of Vehicles Director David Harper said. “We look forward to seeing which design Kansans choose.”
