KANSAS CITY - Mayor Quinton Lucas joined Kansas City's Morning News today, where we asked him about what's being done about the continuing scourge of gun violence.
Over the weekend, a teen girl was killed when she was hit by a bullet that was shot into her home. It was the 100th murder of the year in KC, a number reached or surpassed in 33 of the last 40 years.
Lucas says there are a number of things that are being done to reduce the homicide rate, but there's no simple solution, and more needs to happen.
