Kansas City, KS – A new boutique gift shop named Strawberry Hill Forever, featuring the work of local and regional artists, has opened in the historic Strawberry Hill neighborhood of KCK.

Shop owner Kathy Hanis says she was inspired to open the gift shop to keep the memories of the city she remembers from her childhood alive.

“It all came about in a dream and the interest and support has been overwhelming," said Hanis. "I am passionate about creating hometown pride that is spreading throughout the Strawberry Hill neighborhood and the Kansas City community every day."

The new shop at 406 N. 5th St., Kansas City, Kansas, has opened featuring pieces from Kansas artists: Stan Herd, Charlie Podrebarac, Mike Savage, Roy Inman, Jamie Lavin, Anthony Oropeza, Darryl Woods; as well as local Strawberry Hill artists Marijana Grisnik, Elaine Grisnik, and Mary Ann Bartkoski.

Hanis said she's looking for more local artists and makers from KCK and Wyandotte County. She's also planning to expand her shop wares, adding clothing, jewelry, home decor and more. Plus, she looks to have a line of "Strawberry Hill" merchandise featuring the iconic KCK neighborhood.

The store is open through Thursday this week, will close for Christmas and the New Year, and will reopen in January.
