KANSAS CITY – An 18-year-old has been found guilty of making a threat against Leavenworth High School.

In September of 2024, Leavenworth police took Kaden Ray Bentley into custody, over a shooting threat made on Snapchat against Leavenworth High School.

A portion of the quoted text of Bentley’s snap (post) was as follows: “LHS count yo days (devil emoji), I’m bout to walk in da [expletive] like John Wick.”

Court documents noted that John Wick is a fictional character from the John Wick movie series. In the movie, John Wick is a vigilante who brings down an organization by shooting its members.

After the threat was made, police found Bentley in a home on Ft Leavenworth, where he sometimes stayed with a family member.

He didn’t attend the high school.

Bentley has now been found guilty of Aggravated Criminal Threat by a Leavenworth County jury.

His sentencing is set for February 26th.
