We're on the cusp of the 250th anniversary of the greatest experiment in democracy in history. And how better to celebrate America's 250th year of independence than with the biggest fireworks display of all time?
President Donald Trump announced he will host a "spectacular Trump rally" at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument on July 4, featuring a massive fireworks show and military band performance.

Trump announced via Truth Social that he would add another rally on Independence Day to celebrate America's 250th anniversary, following a rally on June 24.
The July 4 rally will include "Patriotic Melodies," "American Classics," and the president's personal playlist, excluding music that "puts you to sleep and constantly complains."
The event will feature music by military bands, orchestras, and ceremonial units, military flyovers, an airshow, and the "LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY."
Last month, the White House unveiled a slew of celebrations to mark the U.S.’s 250th birthday. MORE HERE.
A major concert announcement was immediately mired in controversy after multiple artists dropped out of performances on the National Mall, fearing it would look like a recommendation of the current administration.
The July 4th rally also drew critiques, including this one from CNN Politics: "His announcement was notable as events marking signing of the Declaration of Independence are typically meant to be nonpartisan and focused on the country writ large, rather than representing one political party or president. Trump has previously drawn criticism for using his office to advance his own personal interests or making himself the star of what would otherwise be apolitical celebrations. He has also loomed large over celebrations of America’s semiquincentennial."
So, while the president brands the celebration with his name, it also begs the question -- Will the fireworks show really be the best ever? That looks to be true. Axios reported that the White House commission behind the events to mark Amerca's 250th birthday was working with fireworks firm Pyrotecnico to break a Guinness World Record for “largest firework display.”
