Owners and employees at the Mary Lee Donuts on O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge had a hectic day Friday as they completed drive through orders and dealt with debris caused by a naked woman crashing a vehicle through the shop at around 2 a.m.

“This is really a bizarre accident,” said shop owner Jane Bae in an interview with WBRZ.

According to the outlet, Bae said that after a vehicle crashed through the building, a naked woman emerged from it and tried to run away. Deputies said the woman had mental health issues, per the report.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the woman attacked paramedics before lying in the road, according to WBRZ. Eventually, she was taken to a hospital for treatment and a mental health evaluation.

As of Saturday afternoon, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office had not yet confirmed the details with WWL.

Bae said it is the second time a car has hit the store – located in the end unit of a mini mall – in the past six months.

“We just got through fixing the other accident,” she said, adding “it’s just ruining our daily lives.”

According to the Storefront Safety Council, there are 60 vehicle crashes into storefronts per day in the U.S., resulting in approximately 4,000 injuries and 500 deaths annually.

The Mary Lee drive through line stretched into the street Friday as workers kept filling and cleaning up debris from the crash. Bae said she hopes this type of accident never happens again.
