KANSAS CITY - A 30-year-old man died when his Ford Focus rear-ended a semi-truck in N. Wichita.
The crash happened after 7:00 a.m. in frigid temperatures Monday at the Love’s Travel Stop on 21st Street near I-135.
According to Wichita police, a tractor-trailer was parked on the side of the road with mechanical problems with its hazard lights on, when a car slammed into the trailer. Police believe speed was a factor as the vehicle collided into the back of the big rig to the west of the Canal Route.
21st Street was closed in the area while investigators processed the scene.
