Kacey Musgraves grabbed the attention of many after posting a snug photo with her rumored boyfriend, Dr. Gerald Onuoha on her Instagram story Monday.
The picture showcased Onuoha, who reposted the photo, as he leaned in to Musgraves while they enjoyed some sunshine together. Musgraves tagged Onuoha in the photo, which sent fans on a hunt for more details. Here’s what they found.
According to his LinkedIn, Onuoha practices internal medicine at HCA Healthcare in Nashville. He is a graduate of Texas Southern University and also alum of Dartmouth College and Meharry Medical College. His Instagram states he is a Nigerian American and the founder of Everybody vs. Racism, a movement to eradicate racism.
Musgraves’ Instagram post isn’t the only thing feeding speculation of romance. The two were also spotted hugging in Los Angeles on Monday while they waited for an Uber. The embrace was captured in photos published by New York Post’s Page Six.

The rumored romance comes seven months after Musgraves divorced her husband Ruston Kelly, who she wed in October 2017.
“We believe that we were put into each other’s lives for a divine reason and have both changed each other infinitely for the better,” Kelly and Musgraves shared in a joint statement regarding their divorce. “The love we have for each other goes far beyond the relationship we’ve shared as husband and wife. It’s a soul connection that can never be erased.”
The former couple continued to share, “It simply just didn’t work. Though we are parting ways in marriage, we will remain true friends for the rest of our lives.These kinds of announcements are always met with scrutiny and speculation and we want to stop that before it even starts.”
