Granger Smith and his wife, Amber, welcomed their fourth child over the weekend, a son they named Maverick Beckham Smith.

Granger took to Instagram to share the news with his fans writing, "He’s here! Wow… so many emotions… He and @amberrileysmith are doing great.”
The Smith family announced they were expecting with a heartfelt video earlier this year. Granger, Amber and their children London (9), and Lincoln (7), dedicated the video to their late, three-year-old son/brother, River, who they lost in a drowning accident in June 2019.
Since the announcement, the couple has been very open about their journey turning to IVF, navigating a global pandemic, processing grief, leaning on faith, and keeping the memory of River alive.

“I truly didn’t know how my emotions would be welcoming Maverick into the world,” Amber wrote on her Instagram page with a photo of the newborn. “The journey we’ve been on, the anticipation, the grief, guilt and and joy was all swirling around in my heart.”
She continued, “I was honestly scared of how I would feel, but the main emotion and feeling I have is peace. Full peace.”
Maverick’s name, which includes the letters, R, I, V, E and R is a tribute to his late-brother, River. Since Maverick’s birth on Friday, August 20, the family has returned home and are enjoying their new bundle of joy.
“I’m so full of gratitude for his life and the blessing he is to our family,” Amber wrote. “We are so joyful to welcome him and share our joy with you! Say hello to Maverick Beckham Smith 7lbs 20 inches and so full of sweetness.”
