This is the transmission “X-Files” fans have been waiting for.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunited for two new photos and fans of the classic sci-fi series are in shock at the not-so-confidential new documents.
The stars, who played Fox Mulder and Dana Scully on the show, posed with a mysterious creature — Anderson’s adorable dog, Stella — that the actress posted to Instagram on Sunday.
“Stella made a new friend today,” Anderson, 52, captioned the photos before tagging her former co-star, 60.
In the pics, Duchovny can be seen leaning into the frame as Anderson smiles while holding her fluffy pup, whose eyes can be seen peering at the camera, somewhat out of focus.
Fans bombarded the comments section with ecstatic messages and references to the show.

“Am i alive? Is this real!?” one fan wrote.

“Can’t you two just marry already?!” a hopeful user asked.
“Bold of you to assume we can handle this,” one humble fan commented.

“I want to believe!!!” joked another.
Anderson previously introduced the world to Stella in an Instagram post in December 2020.
“Meet my new gf Stella,” she captioned the photo.
“The X-Files” aired on Fox between 1993 and 2002. In addition to its airing, two feature-length films based on the series have been produced: 1998’s “The X-Files” and 2008’s “The X-Files: I Want to Believe.”
Despite fans’ wishes, there are currently no plans for a new iteration of the show.
Since the series, both have gone on to work on various other projects.
Duchovny most notably starred in the Showtime series “Californiacation” as controversial bad-boy writer Hank Moody.

On the heels of her acclaimed turn as British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Netflix’s royal family anthology “The Crown,” Anderson is preparing to portray Eleanor Roosevelt in a new TV series titled “The First Lady.”
