
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A Jennings man is behind bars, charged with second-degree murder for Thursday's fatal car crash in north St. Louis.
Police say 22-year-old Traveon Smith was driving the car that t-boned an SUV at Natural Bridge and Fair.
The other driver, 68-year-old Joseph Powell of St. Louis, was killed.
Traveon Smith and his three passengers, including a 7-month-old boy, all are reportedly in stable condition.
In addition to the murder charge, Smith faces counts of armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police say he ran from the collision, and they had to chase him down.
