ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The home of the Whopper is getting a new look as Burger King is testing a new verion of its iconic burger only in the St. Louis area. It's a Whopper with no meat, called the "Impossible Burger."

Burger King has been known to pull an April Fools' Day prank or two in recent memory, like the chocolate Whopper and the in-home ordering kiosk. And although St. Louis has been in the news recently for the way its bagels are sliced, this one is looking pretty real.

The restaurant responded to KMOX, saying it's not a prank:

.@BurgerKing is saying it's not a #AprilFools prank on #STL. Has anyone in the area tried this #impossiblewhopper that's supposedly only on sale in St. Louis? https://t.co/ixVMpzHJkP

Burger King will be adding the beefless burger to its menu, beginning with an initial launch at 59 restaurants around St. Louis. They say it's "100% Whopper. 0% beef."

As long as things go to plan, expect the rest of the chain restaurants to get the beef-like patty from Impossible Foods.
