ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — The cold weather isn't good for area restaurants, and a local staple in north St. Louis is shutting its doors early.
Andy Karandzhiff of Crown Candy Kitchen says they'll be closing up at 4 p.m. today.
"Last night, from 5 o'clock to 8 o'clock, I looked at the numbers and I couldn't justify staying open again tonight. I don't blame people, I don't want to go outside (either)!"
Karandzhiff says it would cost him more in payroll and heating tonight than they'd make in sales.
The good news: temperatures are warming quickly and by this weekend, springlike temperatures should bring people out for its legendary BLTs and malts.
