Lou Brock never went on the injured list through 19 MLB seasons. He confirmed that in a conversation with our sports director Tom Ackerman. Then he told a story about another famous tough guy in the St. Louis Cardinals and National Baseball Hall of Fames - Bob Gibson.

Brock explained laughing, that he was the one who convinced the Cards team doctor to pull Gibson and put him on the disabled list for an arm injury.
