St. Louis, MO (KMOX) - Investigators say they're once again seeing an increase in credit card skimming at ATM's and gas pumps.
St. Louis County Police say it's a crime that goes in cycles. "We've recovered about five of these in the last few months, so yes still very prevalent," says Sergent Mike Parks, "anywhere from the North County Precinct to the South County Precinct and anywhere in between so it's not that it's localized in any one area. Parks says in some cases the skimmers were installed by someone local, in others it's someone coming into town, trying to steal as many credit card numbers as they can in a just a couple days.
