"It was a real hit to us, because our spring drives are our most popular drives. It always brings out the most people. And our drives are really our only way to connect with the outside world outside of our scrap yard," explains Social Media Manager Samuel Baumann.
Baumann says to make up for that they've launched driveway pick-up days. The first ones have booked up fast.
"We advertised last year and it never really saw this kind of turnout until the whole dilemma came about and so I feel like there's a silver lining to this whole situation," Baumann says.
They're planning to offer more driveway pickups in surrounding communities. Even with limitations on their business due to the coronavirus, they've been able to hold onto their staff.
Bauman says workers are following CDC recommendations for sanitation workers -- they're wearing gloves, masks, and keeping their distance from customers.
