ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX) - Police have charged a man who alledgedly shot an Amazon delivery driver for parking in a handicap space at a Target in St. Charles.
The St. Charles Police Department announced Larry Thomlison, 65, is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
He is accused of shooting the 21-year-old man Tuesday after an argument because the driver was parked in the handicap spot without a placard.
Thomlison confronted the driver, taking cellphone pictures of him and punching him in the face, says St. Charles Prosecutor Tim Lohmar. After a scuffle on the pavement, Thomlison shot the 21-year-old in the back as he was trying to run away.
Lohmar says there is nothing self-defense about the shooter's behavior.
The driver was listed as critical but stable condition at a nearby hospital, according to police on Tuesday. Lohmar says the victim could be facing possible paralysis.
Thomlison's bond is set a $100,000.
