ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Metro is warning commuters to expect delays today. It's because of -quote- "an unusually high number of MetroBus operators" calling in sick today, as well as turning down extra shifts.

Due to an unusually high number of MetroBus operators already calling off work for tomorrow (Monday) and declining to work extra assignments, we anticipate we will not be in a position to deliver the normally high quality service the region has come to expect every day.

— Metro (@STLMetro) August 19, 2019  Metro's contract with the local transit union expired in June. That has led to periodic driver shortages You can call the Metro Transit Information team from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 314-231-2345 or text them at 314-207-9786.

To assist our MetroBus customers, the Metro Transit Information team will be expanding hours tomorrow (August 19) from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.— by phone at 314.231.2345 or text at 314.207.9786.
