ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- Major League Soccer's Expansion Committee heard Monday from the ownership group trying to bring a team to St. Louis.
In a statement, lead investor Carolyn Kindle Betz says 'MLS4TheLou' touted the female-led ownership group that's privately financing this deal.
They also reportedly revealed details on the soccer-specific stadium that's planned just west of Union Station and relayed more information about potential local business sponsors.

July 15, 2019 MLS, in a separate statement, called it a productive meeting with St. Louis, but says they met with Charlotte boosters yesterday too and expect to meet "soon" with the group from Sacramento.
The statement says representatives from St. Louis, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Sacramento and "other potential expansion markets" will be in Orlando for the MLS All-Star Week July 27-31, as the league attempts to expand from 27 teams to 30.

July 15, 2019 Betz, though, cites the PGA Championship and Blues' Stanley Cup run and says "our City knows how to show up and support our sports teams and there’s absolutely no reason to doubt they would show up day-in-and-day-out for MLS.”

July 15, 2019 Major League Soccer announced they'd be expanding to 30 teams earlier this year, almost assuring that a franchise will be awarded to St. Louis.
Confirmation could come this month at MLS All-Star Week.
