ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Attendees of the annual JB Blast fireworks show won't have to worry about a possible steamy, July night this year. Now it could be a cool, fall evening of fireworks because the 4th of July show in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery has been moved to October 2.

A Facebook post from the south St. Louis County cemetery states they're "keeping the health and safety of the public and our staff in mind."

They're not the only ones doing something new or canceling firework displays. Fair St. Louis which had an annual display near the Gateway Arch was canceled, as well as the Alton Fireworks Spectacular in Illinois. The Webster Groves’ annual Community Days parade and fireworks have been postponed to a later date and the Eureka mayor is working to save the 4th of July fireworks show by starting a crowdfunding effort.

The fireworks show in Edwardsville is one local 4th of July event that hasn't been postponed or canceled due to COVID. Instead, the city says it will be held on July 3 at 9:15 p.m. and they're organizing a viewing location on the Edwardsville High School track. City officials say the location can hold a large number of people while also adhering to social distancing rules.
