ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — A string of arson crimes has hit vacant homes and businesses in North St. Louis. At least four fires have happened since early October.

The home of resident Emma Visor, 83, in the 5100 block of Enright Avenue caught fire Friday night next to a building that was apparently the target ...

"At 3 a.m., the smoke alarm went off in my house and I got out and my house was lit up. I went downstairs and the fire people said, 'get out, get out, it's a fire,'" Visor said.

Visor said her home is salvageable, but everything's soaked with water — so much so, that she and her 61-year-old daughter had to move to a relative's home in Florissant.

Police are investigating. There's a $6,000 reward to catch the culprit.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
