BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOX) - A Menards employee in St. Louis County is in critical condition after being hit by a shoplifting suspect as she was fleeing the scene in her vehicle. The victim suffered a head wound and was taken to a local hospital for life-saving treatment, police say.

St. Louis County Police say Wednesday night at the store at 14161 Manchester Road in Ballwin, a woman with five kids entered the store and walked out with a cart full of merchandise that wasn't paid for. The victim who was hit with the suspect's vehicle remains at a hospital in critical but stable condition.
